After giving alms to the Buddhist Monks at Wat Xaiya Rattana in Savankhet, Laos, it is a traditional for my relatives to make a visit to the sacred Wat In Hang Stupa (That Inhang Stupa) for merit making and to ask for blessing. Good health and prosperity for the year is usually the favorite request.
It was a rare occasion to witness the blessing ceremony of the selected Buddhist Monks at the temple. There is a saying that if you visit the town of Savannakhet and have not made a trip to That Ing Hang Stupa, then it’s like you have never been to Savannakhet at all. Not sampling the famous Lao food dishes of Savannakhet is the other saying. 🙂
