I went to check out the progress of Mekong embankment project to prevent erosion near Wat Chanh area in Vientiane, Laos and to see where I could have dinner. There was a beautiful sunset but I was not able to enjoy watching the sunset like I did in the past due to all the smoke, noises, and dusts in the area. Despite all the construction and mess, there were still plenty of mats, tables, and chairs being set up for a nice dinner with a view.

I was sad to see such changes in the past two years in this area but eager to see the completion of the project and the new park near by. I strolled around checking various restaurants but couldn’t cope with the noises and the smoke and headed for dinner at 3 Sisters Restaurant a few meters from the mess.
