It will be one month this coming Sunday since I ate Lao Green Papaya Salad. It was a decision that I made to save a few bucks here and there since green papaya is quite expensive in Holland. I have been making other types of salad to cope with not having Lao green papaya salad using other less expensive ingredients like carrot, cucumber, noodle, and green bean.
This week Dutch cucumber is on sale at the local grocery store with buy one, get one free. I bought two cucumbers yesterday and made Tum Maak Tdeng or Lao Cucumber Salad for dinner. The second cucumber will be added to Yum Salad either tomorrow or on Sunday.
