After spending a little over an hour at a temple on a hill, we were all rounded up into the pickup truck and headed toward Wat Phu in Champassak, Laos. We wanted to get there before sunset and were pressing for time. First we had to take a buk or ferry and cross a river.

My cousin Bay bought me a bowl of Khao Phoon at the buk. She said the location is famous for delicious Khao Phoon so I gave it a try.

I was not confident about using the buk for transportation on the river. I have never heard a news or story about the sinking of the buk in this area before so I told myself there was no need to panic. The beautiful view of the river and its surrounding was worth the trip.
