I found fresh sour Tamarind or Maak Kaam Som in Lao language at the Korean grocery store yesterday and bought a package to test it out. I’ve been having a craving for something sour for awhile now and made myself a sweet chili dipping sauce for a late afternoon snack.

I made the dipping sauce by mixing ground roasted sticky rice, fish sauce, sugar, chili peppers, and shallots together.

If you are fond of garlic and MSG and can’t live without them, be sure to add those two ingredients in the sauce.
