I went for a walk around lunch time today and was enjoying so much that I didn’t check the time. It started to rain while I was taking pictures of Dutch crocus at the local part and I headed for the nearest shopping center. I was getting hungry and didn’t know what to have for lunch. Then I walked by a fruits and vegetables store and bought myself a pineapple. By the time I arrived home and got in the kitchen, the sun started to shine again and I made myself a Tum Maak Nut or Spicy Pineapple Salad for a late lunch.
Tum Maak Nut or Spicy Pineapple Salad
I pounded four chili peppers, one teaspoon of sugar, pinch of salt, two teaspoons of Malaysian shrimp paste all together using mortar and pestle. Then I added half of sliced tomato to the mix and crushed well and added one tablespoon of ferment fish sauce. The last part is adding half of the pineapple already cut into bite size pieces and toss the ingredients with a serving spoon. The verdict of this salad? Quite delicious. 🙂
