For dinner we had a special treat from Pakse. My aunt in Pakse asked her relatives to make a special batch of Som Moo (soured pork wrapped in banana leaf) and sent them as a gift to various relatives in Vientiane.
My aunt in Vientiane grilled the soured pork (Som Moo) and later made spicy shrimp salad (Dancing Shrimp or Sao Noi Disco) to surprise me.
Of course since my aunt can’t eat the dish raw (dancing shrimp version), my aunt made sure these girls were not dancing too wildly and staying put on the plate.
