The must have item is no doubt the famous Khao Nom Parn from Thakhek. You can’t pass through the town without buying this for yourself or as gift for your relatives. We also bought baby duck eggs, dried squid, and pretty much anything we thought our relatives in Pakse would appreciate getting the items. By the time we were done with our shopping, our bus driver was honking the horn and we had to grab our bags and headed for our seat. Next stop is Savannakhet and we were looking forward to buying some Ping Kai (grilled chicken) to take to Pakse with us.
