Today is the annual Phat That Luang Festival (Boun That Luang) in Vientiane, Laos. My two aunts and cousins went to the morning alms offering (Sai Baht) at That Luang esplanade.
After the almsgiving ceremony, it was time to have breakfast with either Khao Larm (grilled sticky rice in bamboo tube) and Ping Kai (grilled chicken) or Khao Poon (Lao rice vermicelli soup). Then it was a little food (young sticky rice, purple sticky rice, boiled chicken) and merchandise shopping before heading home.
