Since Aunt Kian was not able to attend Vat Phou Festival this year in Champasak Province, she did the next best thing and that was to make a visit to the sacred Wat Si Muang in Vientiane, Laos. After doing her religious rituals, Aunt Kian took her usual route home, passing many riverside food stalls along Quai Fa Ngum, along the Mekong River. A few things caught her eyes and she made a stop for boiled corns and few other things.
Aunt Kian didn’t feel like cooking for lunch that day. She bought what she needed and picked up a few more dishes at Kok Pho Market on her way home.
