After spending a couple of hours strolling at Luang Prabang Market Fair I was thirsty and hungry and went to my favorite Fruit Shake stall for something refreshing. The mother and daughter team were having a bowl of Khao Soy for breakfast and I asked where they bought it from. I was pointed across the street to Noy’s Noodle Stall which is set up along the fence of Luang Prabang Tourism Authority Office.
Noy normally sells her noodle soup in the evening when the Night Market opens but sets up her stall early in the morning and through the night for the Luang Prabang Market Fair which is held on the first day of Lao New Year Celebration or Boun Pi Mai Lao.
You can find three types of noodle soup at Noy’s Noodle Stall. Her limited noodle soup menu includes traditional Lao noodle soup known as Khao Phiak Sen (ເຂົ້າປຽກເສັ້ນ), Feu (ເຟີ), and Khao Soi or Khao Soy (ເຂົ້າຊອຍ; ข้าวซอย) for 10,000 Kip per bowl (price as of April 2012). I’ve eaten her noodle soup several times and would go back for more in the future.
