When I was in Luang Prabang in February 2010, I ate a bowl of Feu (Pho) made by Aunt Thongmoun after asking a few people at the morning market where I could find a good noodle soup place. They told me to go to a noodle soup stall, which is located opposite of Wat Mai. This is where one could find Khao Phiak, Feu, and Khao Soy for either breakfast or lunch.
Aunt Thongmoun’s Noodle Soup Stall in Luang Prabang is located on the main street, opposite of Wat Mai.
So, it was fitting for me to drop by and say hi to her while enjoying a bowl of noodle soup for lunch. I told her how I didn’t try to make Khao Soy and totally forget about her recipe after a few months.
The next time I am in Luang Prabang, I will have to take a crash course in Lao cooking and learn to make a few dishes so I don’t have to wait until I go to Laos to satisfy my craving.
