Lao crispy rice salad or Lao fried rice ball salad (Nam Khao; ແໝມເຂົ້າ) with soured pork (Som Moo; ສົ້ມໝູ) made by my two aunts for lunch in Vientiane, Laos.
Aunt Phone made a big batch to share with the relatives and neighbors, living next door. Aunt Kian made Nam Jeem (Dipping Sauce) to go with the Lao Crispy Rice Salad.
It was something new to me, to have a dipping sauce to go with Nam Khao. I do have to admit that it’s quite a delicious combination and I would like to try this again the next time I go to Laos.
