There is something about doing grocery shopping in Laos. It’s not boring like in Holland or in the USA with pushing the shopping cart down the aisles and selecting fruits and vegetables all packed in a nice plastic containers or in boxes. Whenever I am in Laos I would volunteer to go to the local market for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s fun to meet the friendly faces and make new friends or chat with familiar faces.
The Morning Market in Luang Prabang is full of life and if you are there, please take your time and mingle with the people. You’ll have a more memorial experience that just a typical tourist who runs in and runs out and taking a few photos and videos. You can bargain with the merchants, which is something I’m not good at. Now and then I would asked for extra fruit or vegetable just for the fun of it. It’s also fun to just walk around and touching things and watching other shoppers doing their grocery shopping.
