Spotted featherback (Notopterus chitala) Fish Salad (Larb Pa Tong ລາບປາຕອງ, ลาบปลาตอง) for lunch in Vientiane, Laos. My relatives got some fresh caught Spotted featherback (Pa Tong) from Nam Ngum Lake. My two aunts decided to make Larb out of them.
Rather than eating the raw version of Larb Pa Tong (ລາບປາຕອງ), Aunt Kian heated the salad in a pan after mixing all the ingredients together. It was a nice lunch with fish soup, plenty of herbs and vegetables served on the side, and freshly cooked sticky rice.
