Mee Kati (Rice Stick Noodles with Coconut Milk) made by my two aunts for dinner in Vientiane, Laos. My two aunts like to make this dish to celebrate a Boun or Lao Festival. Since today is the End of the Buddhist Lent Festival (Boun Ok Phansa), it was a good opportunity to make good for everyone to enjoy.
In the morning the two aunts went to Wattay Temple to make offerings to the Buddhist Monks. When they returned home, it was time to get down to cooking and making a big pot of Rice Stick Noodles with Coconut Milk.
The big pot of Mee Kati was enough for all the family and friends that would come by for a visit before heading to the Mekong River for Boun Lai Heu Fai or Festival of Lights.
