Making String Beans Salad in Vientiane

Since breakfast was bought to save time for the relatives having to go to work and to school, lunch had to be made. After doing her morning chores and studying before heading to the university, Khek was busy making Ping Kadouk Karng Moo ( grilled pork ribs ). Since I like to cook for myself, I took the opportunity to make String Beans Salad or Tum Maak Thua. The version I made for myself was without garlic, MSG, Padek or fermented fish sauce.

It was still delicious using chili pepper, salt, sugar, shrimp paste, fish sauce, and lime juice for seasoning. The String Beans Salad went well with warm sticky rice and the pork ribs.
