A big lunch in Vang Vieng, Laos after a typical tour of the town. As a Tam Maak Hoong (Lao Green Papaya Salad) lover, I had to order a plate of the salad to go with steamed fish and purple sticky rice. For dessert it was Lao iced coffee to cool down the chili peppers in the Tam Maak Hoong.
It was a nice lunch and we went to watch Farangs (tourists) jumping into the river and tubing down the Nam Song River afterward.
It was a wonderful experience for me to be there with my parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I hope to visit Vang Vieng in the near future on my own and spending a few days there tracing the foot steps of my Mama and deceased Grandmother.
