Young green mango (ໝາກມ່ວງ) and marian plum (Mak Phang; ໝາກຜາງ), with spicy fermented fish dipping sauce (Jeow Padek Wan; ແຈ່ວປາແດກຫວານ) for afternoon snack in Vientiane, Laos.

This dipping sauce is great for any type of sour fruit. To make the sauce, combine the following ingredients together: fermented fish sauce (Padek or Padaek), sugar, roasted sticky rice powder, roasted chili powder, sliced shallot, and slice garlic (optional).

  3. For the dip I use two tsp sugar, 3tbs fish sauce, 1 tsp toasted rice powder, 1 chopped shallots, 1 tsp red dry chili crushed, 1 pinch msg, 1 tbs padeak. Adjust ingredient to your liking.
