Warm sticky rice goes great with Lao Green Papaya Salad.
It tastes best with fresh tomatoes. In this case I used wild organic tomatoes.
Lao Green Papaya Salad with Sticky Rice
I am fortunate enough to have found green papaya from Thailand or from other tropical countries here. Nye thinks I eat Som Tum almost daily, as stated in her Som Tum Going Inter post. She is quite right!

Sabaidee Narong,
Thank you for your visit. Yes, Tum Maak Houng is a favorite for many Lao and non-Lao people. You are fortunate to be able to have your tum maak houng where you are. Some of my relatives that live in the US don’t have store that sell green papaya so it’s such a torture not to be able to eat our food.
