Lao Food for first lunch right after my arrival in Vientiane, Laos, with my favorite dishes like Lao Green Papaya Salad aka Tum Mak Houng (ຕໍາໝາກຫຸ່ງ) with Soured Pork (Som Moo; ສົ້ມໝູ).
Aunt Phone made Fried Noodles (Khua Mie; ຂົ້ວໜີ່) to go with papaya salad. She also went to Gok Pho Market for an order of Spicy Green Banana Salad (Tum Mak Guay; ຕຳໝາກກ້ວຍ) for me to try out. I haven’t eaten Tum Mak Guay since 2007 in Champassak and always forget to eat it the past few years when I go to Laos.
With all the spicy dishes, it was a treat to have Nam Varn Ruam Mit (ນ້ຳຫວານ) and Lao Iced Coffee for dessert. It was a perfect meal at my Home Sweet Home.
