Maak Katun (Jujube Fruit) at Vientiane Organic Market. We bought a couple kilos of the ripe fruits to have for dessert after dinner.
Whenever I see Maak Katun, it made me miss the gigantic Jujube tree in front of our old house in Vientiane, Laos. It was the only tree in the neighborhood and that’s where all the kids in the area would hang out during the fruit season. We made Jeow (dipping sauce) to eat with the green fruits. When the Julube fruits ripe and fell to the ground, my sister and I had to clean up the mess since we couldn’t eat them fast enough.
