During the weekend, we like to visit relatives outside the center of Vientiane, Laos. There is this one family that makes a living by growing corn, papaya, and banana for a living. There is a vegetable garden there with daily herbs and vegetables for sustainable consumption. The string bean is organically grown just like everything else on the vegetable farm.
It makes a nice spicy salad and tastes so much better right off the garden than those commercially grown kind using fertilizer and pesticide. What are we having for dinner tonight? It’s no other than Ping Pa Nin ປີ້ງປານິນ (grilled tilapia) and Tam Maak Thua ຕຳໝາກຖົ່ວຍາວ (string bean salad).
