When I am not dining at a restaurant during my vacation in Laos, a simple home cooked meal like ping pa nin(ປີ້ງປານິນ grilled tilapia fish) and som phak kard (ສົ້ມຜັກກາດ pickled mustard greens) with warm sticky rice for lunch is a good enough meal for me.
My father likes to eat ping pa and som phak kard and would make his own pickled mustard green whenever he could. He even grows the vegetable in his garden so he can pick it whenever he wants to eat with Pon Pa or other dishes.
