During my recent trip to Laos, I spent four days and three nights in Luang Prabang. I read in a guide book to allow yourself at least three nights in the World Heritage Town to be able to see enough of the hot spots.

Four days and three nights was not enough for me because I spent much of the day time hiding from the heat. Rather than going on sightseeing, I sat under the shades and eating various Lao Food dishes with my friends.

My first Lao food dish in Luang Prabang, Laos was no other than Lao green papaya salad (Tam Maak Hoong; ຕໍາໝາກຫຸ່ງ) with raw fermented fish sauce (Padaek; ປາແດກ). Green Papaya Salad in Luang Prabang is usually served with fried mushroom (Hed Bod Xong Kheung; ເຫັດບົດຊົງເຄື່ອງ).
