I love to eat banana and my breakfast is usually a banana with a glass of warm soy milk. When I go to Laos, I would get supply of fresh banana right off the tree from a relative in Ban Keun on a weekly basis. Perhaps I’m a bit bias but Lao banana is the best with so many varieties and it tastes nothing like the Chiquita Banana that we find at our grocery store here. We used to have several banana trees in our garden and would often picked ripe banana off the tree!
I don’t eat banana chips outside of Laos because it doesn’t taste as good comparing to the banana chips you can find at the local market all over the country. You can stand there and watch the banana being sliced and deep fried. The vendor even let you tastes it before buying a bag of fried banana chips. 🙂
