I usually spend an hour or more at Luang Prabang Morning Market just looking around and talking to people and buying a what I need or what I don’t need. Usually someone is always trying to sell me something and I always ended up with a bag full of fruits, vegetables, herbs, or ready to eat Lao food. I almost bought a fish on this particular morning but stop myself in time since I already had a dinner plan.
The fishes at the market came from a fish farm in Luang Prabang and also from Vientiane. The owner of the fish farm is the same person that I have heard of and have been to his fish farm in Vientiane before. The fish seller told me if there is not enough supply in Luang Prabang like around Lao New Year or other Lao festivals then the shipment from Vientiane is needed to keep up with the demand.
