I finally made my first batch of Tum Maak Houng aka Lao green papaya salad yesterday. I’ve not eaten my favorite dish since I’ve been back from Laos in November of last year.

Green papaya was always sold out at the local Chinese grocery store in Rotterdam so I had to make the best of the situation with string beans salad, cucumber salad, or carrot salad.

After uploading the video I made of the green papaya salad and going through my video and photo album on my computer hard drive, I found a video clip that I made of green papaya salad on the exact date of yesterday a year ago.

I thought it was a strange coincidence and without planing or remembering that I made a green papaya salad in January of last year before taking a one month trip to Laos, starting in February of last year.
