Whenever I go to Laos, a must visit place is Ban Keun. It is where my mother’s family is from and a place that I spent my early childhood being taken care of by my great-grandparents during summer time. This year’s trip is different because all the elders have passed away since the last time I was in Laos in 2008. My Great Aunt-in-law is the only oldest living person in our family now.
We made a couple of stops along the way to buy fruits to take to the relatives. You should never visit anyone in Laos empty handed.
