When I first went to Roots and Leaves Restaurant in Luang Prabang for lunch, I was told about their dinner program with Lao food, traditional Lao music and dancing. I made a reservation for the next night and put down my deposit for table number 7, which is right in the center of all the actions.
Since I was the first person to make a reservation for that night, I had to choose a menu (three on the list). There’s a logistic reason behind this and to ensure the cost of entertainment will be covered for the night. If one table has already been reserved with a minimum of one set menu, then other guests can just make a reservation or walk in and choose À la carte menu.
It was a wonderful dining experience at Roots & Leaves Restaurant and I would go back there again the next time I am in Luang Prabang. I enjoyed the various Lao dishes and finished off with my favorite dessert, Nam Varn Lod Chong.
