Alms Offering at Wattay Yai Temple in Vientiane, Laos for Boun Khao Chi (Boun Makha Busa) or Lunar Festival. This is a festival celebrating the teaching of the Buddha and held during the third full moon of the lunar calendar at the temple across the country. In the morning, the laypeople make a special bread of sticky rice covered with egg batter, then grill for offering to the Buddhist Monks.

In the evening, the Buddhist faithfuls gather at their local temple to take part in “Vien Tiane”, which is a candlelight procession around the temple three times.

Sikhottabong Festival (Phrathat Sikhottabong Festival) in Khammouane Province and Wat Phou Festival in Champassack Province are also celebrated today.
