After we came back from Pakse Market, we finished packing and called for a Tuk Tuk to take us to the bus station. We wanted to get there early so we can choose a suitable bus. Aunt Kian doesn’t want to take the VIP because she is allergic to AC. She said she feels dizzy riding in one and prefers to take the slow bus with the open window to smell the dirt and the dust.
Since we were not taking the VIP bus back to Vientiane, we had to pick one that is not yet full of passengers and goods. After some selecting my aunts decided on a bus that was not full of goods on top.
Unlike the VIP bus, the economy bus is loaded with sticky rice bags inside the bus and animals and more bags of rice on top. I don’t want to be dramatic but the bus ride back to Vientiane was quite miserable. They made a stop in the middle of the high way for us to go to the bathroom, well using the bushes and the trees in pitch black. I had a flash light with me so scare off a snack or whatever animals are out there at 2:00 AM. Oh, the things I do to make others happy.
