Sao Darly
This is what I find a couple of weeks before Lao New Year or Boun Pee Mai Lao each year. The bright happy yellow color would remind me Boun Pee Mai Lao is coming up. This particular shrub that I am not able to identify its name yet reminds me of Dok Koon in Laos. It also has this intoxicating smell that would give me a headache after a few minutes of being near the flowers. I will have to check and see if we can plant this in Laos. It would make a nice addition to my aunt’s yard.

The pink cherry blossom were in full bloom, standing side by sides with their neighboring trees. These pink cherry blossoms remind me of cotton candy at the State Fair. Since I live in a tiny apartment with no garden, it is refreshing to be out in the open space and enjoying a sunny day with the birds and the bees. Then I come back home with a major headache. Yes, allergy season is here and more suffering to go with the enjoyment of life.

After I had lunch, I spent a couple of hours strolling at the park and taking photo cherry blossom and narcissus flower. There were all in full bloom and more beautiful than last week.
I had my usual salmon sandwich and green lemon tea for lunch last Tuesday (April 07, 2009) and then went for a walk at a park afterward. It is a great way to digest the food and also to get used to my recently bought Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. I had the camera since February and still trying to get comfortable with it. It was such a nice day to stroll around and take lots of pictures of beautiful cherry blossom in full bloom. I was too busy last year and missed the blooming cheery trees around this time of the year.

There are signs of spring everywhere for the last couple of weeks. This is what I found during lunch break last Wednesday on March 11. Many trees are full of colorful blossoms. I was looking for something and I found this little guy working diligently and he had no time for break.
Biking in the city can be fun, especially on a route where I run into beautiful trees at a local park. I have never paid much attention to these trees before until now. I took the time to examine the simple beauty in life mother nature has given us. I got a nasty headache afterward but it’s worth the price.
