Grocery shopping at China Town and dinner at Hotel New York Restaurant on the weekend. This is the first time in 2010 for me at my favorite seafood restaurant. It’s getting more expensive at the restaurant. But since I like to treat myself to some oysters, it was worth a visit to the place. I even tried Dutch White Beer (Wieckser Witte). It went well with the seafood.

The last time I went to Hotel New York Restaurant was in March of this year. I have been so busy since then and decided to treat myself over the weekend with dinner and a movie later. We got there a few minutes late because of the Summer Carnival in Rotterdam. I was not feeling well so I didn’t order much and had sashimi as starter and later a dozen Dutch oysters and an order of wulken on the side. They ran out of Dutch oysters so I had a more expensive oysters. They didn’t taste as good as Dutch oysters and smaller in size but in the end I only ate half of the other.

I found more elephants from the Elephant Parade Rotterdam earlier today at Kop van Zuid. I know of this area well since Hotel New York was once a place I often went to for good serving of oysters. It is oysters season at the moment but sadly I have not eaten any since last year before Christmas. That’s another subject to talk about.

The sun was hidden behind the clouds so I didn’t get as nice photos as I wanted. I was hungry and wanted to eat first but Johan said by then the sun would be gone at 18:00 hour. Funny though that after we ate an early dinner and was finished our meal before 18:00 hour, the sun came out again. I was too tired to go back for a second round of photo session with the elephants.
