It would be an experience to attend Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. For now I can only enjoy the spring blossom in NL either around in the neighborhood or at Keukenhof Garden.
For centuries Japanese people had been celebrating the tradition of hanami – enjoying the beauty of flowers. The Cherry Blossom festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden plays host to a vast array of traditional and modern Japanese culture, arts and performances for all ages – a tribute to the Garden’s collection of flowering cherry trees.

Okay, I did say something about having to wait for next spring for more photos of cherry blossom in the Netherlands. Well, I found these photos in a sub-folder of stamp photos that I took. I was so happy on that day to received my Lao stamps and made a dash for the book store to buy a new stamp album. They didn’t have one in store and after making an order for one I took a different route walking home. It was a good exercise and I found three cherry blossom trees along the way.

After making a visit to the narcissus flower area, I made a stop by the cherry blossom trees. This is the last set of photos to enjoy for many months ahead. See you next spring.

The pink cherry blossom were in full bloom, standing side by sides with their neighboring trees. These pink cherry blossoms remind me of cotton candy at the State Fair. Since I live in a tiny apartment with no garden, it is refreshing to be out in the open space and enjoying a sunny day with the birds and the bees. Then I come back home with a major headache. Yes, allergy season is here and more suffering to go with the enjoyment of life.

After I had lunch, I spent a couple of hours strolling at the park and taking photo cherry blossom and narcissus flower. There were all in full bloom and more beautiful than last week.

I had my usual salmon sandwich and green lemon tea for lunch last Tuesday (April 07, 2009) and then went for a walk at a park afterward. It is a great way to digest the food and also to get used to my recently bought Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. I had the camera since February and still trying to get comfortable with it. It was such a nice day to stroll around and take lots of pictures of beautiful cherry blossom in full bloom. I was too busy last year and missed the blooming cheery trees around this time of the year.
