Ping Hoy

Making Ping Hoy (snail) for dinner in Laos. My cousin collected these snails, cleaned and boiled them, picked them out, then seasoned them with crushed garlic, lemongrass, Galangal, salt, and MSG.

After grilling the snails on bamboo sticks, my cousin also made Jeow Som (Chili Dipping Sauce with lime juice) to go with the Ping Hoy. It was a simple dinner with steamed sticky rice, fresh herbs and vegetables served with the grilled snails.
