I don’t like to use flash when taking food photos. I also tend to get close and personal with my food so it was a good moment to test the “Macro” feature of Canon Ixus 1000 HS. The settings of the camera was on Auto mode for shooting with the flash turned off. I used the same Wide setting for the photo size under “Fine” print. Whenever I got close to the subjects the “Macro” symbol (little tulip flower) rolls down on top right corner of the screen and I fired away.
I was quite happy with how the photos turned out and will be using this little camera whenever I dine out. It’s so tiny and I can be discreet. I often use my mobile phone (Satio) for food photos at restaurant because I don’t like to draw attention to myself. The Ixus 1000 HS is not intrusive and can capture full HD video so my mobile phone can stay in purse more from now on.
